The wine world is changing — not only in where it is produced and consumed, but in how people connect within it. New regions are emerging. Established regions are being redefined. And global recognition has not fully kept pace with these shifts. At the same time, women in wine are seeking more than visibility. They are seeking connection — with each other, with new regions, and with opportunities to learn, travel, and grow together within a global context.
WIWE exists at the intersection of these needs. It’s a platform where women in wine come together across borders — to share knowledge, explore emerging wine regions, and engage with the wider industry in meaningful ways. Some join WIWE to grow professionally. Others to discover new regions. Many come for both.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to elevate women in the wine sector, enhance wine education for women, and raise awareness about gender equality throughout the industry. After the inaugural WIWE in 2019 in Belgium and the Netherlands, followed by world-class editions in Georgia (2022), the United Kingdom (2023), Portugal (2024) and Hungary (2025) we brought WIWE to the international stage of ProWein in 2026 — shining a spotlight on the diversity, expertise, and creativity of women winemakers worldwide.
The Aegean Edition - Thessaloniki
Women in Wine Expo returns in 2027 with a new international chapter in the Aegean. Following six successful editions across Europe, WIWE continues its journey as a leading international platform for women in wine, gastronomy, tourism and sustainable entrepreneurship. In 2027, we arrive in Thessaloniki — a city where cultures, landscapes and culinary traditions meet at the crossroads of Europe and the Mediterranean.

The Aegean Edition will bring together an international community of women shaping the future of wine and hospitality. WIWE 2027 extends beyond Thessaloniki and we call out for women in wine in the whole region. Thessaloniki is one of Europe’s most dynamic emerging gastronomy and wine cities — a natural bridge between the Balkans, the Mediterranean and the wider European wine world. Surrounded by diverse terroirs and a rapidly evolving wine scene, the region offers a unique setting for dialogue, discovery and connection.

Masterclass ‘Her terroir, her story’
In March 2026, the Women in Wine Expo brought its global community to ProWein, the world’s leading trade fair for wine and spirits and a key marketplace for the international wine industry. By joining ProWein, WIWE strengthened its mission to elevate women in wine on a truly global stage — offering visibility, access, and meaningful connections across continents. For the first time, WIWE was part of this global platform by curating a flagship Masterclass in Düsseldorf, dedicated to wines made by women worldwide. Set within the highly professional and international environment of ProWein, this masterclass offered a focused space to showcase the expertise, creativity, and diversity of women in the global wine industry. Visitors heard inspiring stories, learnt about cool-climate winemaking, and tasted a thoughtfully curated selection of wines crafted by women winemakers from across continents.
